Testing Live Writer

I'm creating this post using the new Windows Live Writer, which is a blog editor that works with multiple blogs. It has all of the usual text editing features, plus some very nice tools to manage rich media like photos and videos.

One of the things I like most about Writer is the way it lets you create your post in the same format as your blog. It downloads your blog theme and displays the message you are creating inside the theme so you can see exactly how it will look as a final post.

I'm going to try inserting a photo here, by clicking the Insert Picture icon on the right and then browsing to the photo.Nt. McKinley, Alaska Then I'll adjust the size of the photo using the context menu that appears when I click the image. Note that Writer has allowed me to add a watermark to the photo, which was taken by a friend of mine.

It looks like Writer will let me insert a table, or a map. Let's try a table. (But first I'm going to type a bit more to see how the text wraps around the picture. There we go ..... )

OK, now the table:

Title Type
My Table Table
My Image Image

That was easy! Now for the real test ... I'll click the publish icon and see what happens .... here we go .....
